Program Promotion/Social Media

  • Create, manage, and grow organization’s brand and visibility through YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online platforms. Post daily to increase and cultivate audience engagement.

  • Establish best practices for each social networking account with respect to the tone, subject matter, frequency, and timing of posts. Monitor trends via real-time reporting and identify ways for Cave Canem to leverage current topics of interest to the highest degree.

  • Manage and track print anthologies, archives, write and edit press releases, announcements and copy for print, website, and social media.

  • Manage incoming media requests to build relationships with other literary organizations and media outlets; create, execute and measure media campaigns.

  • Provide administrative support to Executive Director, answer phones, track office supplies, and organize travel.

Program Development, Delivery & Evaluation

  • Set timetables and develop agendas for discussion of programs with Executive Director, founders, consultants and designated advisors, as appropriate. Schedule and maintain internal and public calendars.

  • Identify and initiate discussion of new programming opportunities and prospective collaborations.

  • Serve as program-related spokesperson at public events.

  • Manage logistics of site-specific programs. Arrange and schedule coverage; supervise Special Events Coordinator, interns and program volunteers; coordinate book vending.

  • Independently designed, taught, and evaluated First Year Writing courses, utilizing my ability to conceptualize, pitch, and implement creative techniques. Designed and created innovative print and digital content for the classroom through extensive research, utilizing Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite CS5, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.

  • Simultaneously supervised and managed several groups of 18 students in each class through four-month projects and daily activities, while offering individualized support.

  • Proofread and edited written work on a daily basis. Offered grammatical, mechanical, and stylistic writing instruction to students at varying skill levels.

Co-Founder & Curator, Faculty Reading Series & The 33 Graduate Reading Series

  • Co-founded, curated, and emceed for both the Faculty and 33 reading series.

  • Visited and worked with local bars/vendors to secure event space for both reading series. Successfully negotiated and obtained event spaces at no cost to either reading series.

  • Scheduled readers for the series and served as point of contact.

  • Wrote, copy edited, proofread, designed, and distributed all printed and digital promotional materials.

  • Marketed both series via digital medias such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. Reached out to various websites in order to attract press and ensure that all events are well attended. Quadrupled attendance and increased book sales by 500% in one year.
